Rebecca Kert

Rebecca Kert was a former Senior Assistant City Attorney for Tampa, and Assistant County Attorney for Hillsborough County. Rebecca has extensive experience as a local government lawyer specializing in land use and zoning matters, land development, and general municipal law.

As Senior Assistant City Attorney, Rebecca was leader of the Land Use Section for the City of Tampa where she handled a wide range of land use and zoning matters, including Developments of Regional Impact, comprehensive plan amendments, development agreements, transportation (including matters related to impact and mobility fees), variances, vacating, alcoholic beverage permitting, annexations, historic preservation, tree regulation, billboards and signs, sunshine law issues, and code enforcement. Rebecca has been involved in multiple amendments to the Land Development Code, most recently drafted the City’s regulations for small wireless facilities.

Rebecca is Board certified by the Florida Bar in City, County, and Local Government Law and been a guest lecturer at Stetson University College of Law and WMU-Cooley Law School.
