Al Colby is a Florida attorney with more than three decades of legal experience, focusing his practice on real estate, commercial real estate, banking, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, and related business matters. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University in 1981 and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1993. Colby has practiced in Tampa throughout his career and has been recognized for his work in the area of real estate law.

In addition to his legal practice, Colby has been active in The Florida Bar’s Business Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections. His professional involvement has included leadership and committee roles addressing creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and UCC matters, business law, communications and technology, and other areas affecting Florida practitioners. He has also served in leadership roles within the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, reflecting his longstanding commitment to the legal profession and the continued development of Florida law.
